Paintings

I explore the power of black and white through contrast, light, and shadow. Working exclusively with acrylics, I capture depth and emotion in layered, monochrome paintings.

Self-Portrait as a Mirror

2025

This monochrome acrylic self-portrait explores how I see myself today. Inspired by classical sculpture and the play of light and shadow, it reflects both strength and vulnerability. The work is not meant to be perfect, but a mirror of growth – a confrontation with my own self-image and the way I present myself to the world.

Horse bust

2024

This monochrome acrylic painting depicts the bust of a horse. I created it as an exploration outside my usual focus on people and portraits, challenging myself to see if I could capture the same depth, form, and emotion in a different subject.

Female bust

2024

This acrylic painting shows the bust of a female body. I created it after many sketches and studies, as part of my interest in exploring the human form. With this work I aimed to understand anatomy more deeply, and I plan to continue painting bodies to develop my skills further.

Upward gaze

2024

This painting portrays a sculpture of a nun looking upward. I created it to experiment with perspective and light, exploring how different angles and illumination could challenge and improve my painting technique.

Bust of a young woman

2024

One of my first paintings, this bust of a young woman drew me in through its striking play of light and shadow. I was also fascinated by the draped cloth over her hair, which I wanted to explore in paint for the first time.

Hand with candle

2024

This unfinished acrylic painting depicts a hand holding a candle. I created it as a personal challenge: to study the complexity of the human hand and the subtle play of light from a single flame in a dark space.

Fragmented bust

2023

This acrylic painting portrays a famous classical bust with a half-broken face. It is my third acrylic work, created as a study of timeless beauty, fragility, and the play of light and shadow on damaged stone.

First self portrait

2023

This was my second acrylic painting and my very first self-portrait, created for my Art & Design course. Even though it was only my second work in this style, I am still proud of how I captured myself and laid the foundation for my artistic journey.

My first work

2023

This piece marks my very first attempt at painting a bust, executed entirely in black and white. Created as part of an Art & Design exercise, I completed it within a single 30-minute session. Despite being my first time exploring this subject and technique, I am pleased with the results, capturing depth and form through contrast and shading. This work represents both a learning experience and a stepping stone in my artistic journey.
